Dear Editor:
As a 66-year-old walker on John Anderson Drive in Ormond-by-the-Sea, I had enjoyed daily four-mile walks for fun and health until Aug. 5th. A young, male speed-bicyclist (probably going over 25 mph) hit me from behind when he crossed the centerline, while looking at his i-Phone. I landed on his bike with a broken jaw and numerous bruises.
Please, Please Bicyclists, don't ride and use your phones at the same time. The next time could be fatal for both of us.
I appreciate the new no-texting laws for cars, but we need to ensure that bicyclists also follow the rules!
