The Volusia County School Board announced it has officially opened a search for a new superintendent on Friday, August 23.
The quest for a new leader for the District includes many areas of input to facilitate the selection of an ideal candidate. Community input from students and their families, VCS alumni, District employees, educators in higher education, decision-makers and service providers in public, private and nonprofit sectors, employers, advocates, residents and other interested stakeholders will be reviewed as part of the selection process, a press release states.
Four Community Forums will be held throughout the district in September. Attendees will be asked what qualities, experience and skills they desire in the next superintendent. All forums will be held from 6-8 p.m. at the following dates and locations:
