As Tropical Storm Dorian, soon to be a hurricane, approaches Florida, Flagler County is urging residents and businesses to prepare.
Wednesday morning, Aug. 28, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) was predicting that Dorian would be a Category 2 hurricane, and had placed Flagler County within the center of Dorian’s 4- to 5-day Forecast Cone — the area within which the center of Dorian is likely to travel. Today is the day to stock up on emergency supplies, fuel your vehicles — and keep them topped off the rest of the week — and to check your hurricane shutters.”
The county will make sand, for sandbags, available in multiple locations later this week, and will announce the locations as soon as practical, Lord said.
