Due to the impending impact of Hurricane Dorian, the city of Palm Coast is closing all parks and recreation facilities at close of business Friday, Aug. 30, through Monday, Sept. 2. This includes all scheduled activities.

The current plan is for all parks and recreation facilities to resume regular operation hours Tuesday, Sept. 3, after they have been cleared for safety. However, since the precise impact of the storm is still unknown, that could change. Palm Coast's Parks and Recreation Department will send another update after the storm.

As part of preparations, staff have been removing wind screens, sun shades, and baseball cage netting in parks, and replenishing and testing emergency communications at all facilities. In addition, facility rentals and tee times through the weekend will be canceled or rescheduled for a later time.
