Madeline Avenue in Port Orange to temporarily close next week

FPL will be installing concrete power poles.

Sections of Madeline Avenue from Nova Road to Sand Pebble Circle will be closed starting Monday, Feb. 11 through Thursday, Feb. 14, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in order for Florida Power and Light to install concrete power poles. 

Installing the poles will solidify the infrastructure, specifically for hurricanes, according to a Facebook post by Port Orange City Hall. Signage will be in place and detour routes are available. The city asks questions and concerns be directed to the Public Utilities Department at 506-5763.
