Saturday, March 2

Boyz-2-Men Conference

When: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Where: Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 75 Pine Lakes Path

Cost: Free

Details: There will be two guest speakers: former basketball player Cazzie Russell, and the church pastor’s brother, Terrance Coffie, who dealt with addiction before turning his life around and becoming a professor at New York University and an author. The church is providing a light breakfast and lunch for people who register. Young men who attend will also get a gift. Call the church office at 447-5719 to register.

 

Veteran book signing

When: 1-4 p.m.

Where: Tuscan Gardens of Palm Coast, 650 Colbert Lane

Cost: the hardcover is $25.95; paperback $15.95

Details: Guests can meet the man behind the true story “The Last Corpsman- the story of John I. Unger” at the event, as well as the author Juan Carlos Marcos.

 

Tuesday, March 5

Flagler Sportfishing Club meeting

When: 7:30 p.m.

Where: Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8696, 47 Old Kings Road N.

Cost: Free

Details: There will be some trailer maintenance tips at 7 p.m. before the meeting. The general meeting starts at 7:30 p.m., with the featured guest speakers starting at 8:15 p.m. Topics will be: best bait for area, techniques for bait and examples of catches, presented by Jason Keating.

 

Wednesday, March 6

Rummage and bake sale

When: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday; 8 a.m. to noon Friday

Where: Palm Coast Elks Lodge, 53 Old Kings Road

Cost: Price of goods

Details: The Ladies Auxiliary of Palm Coast Elks Lodge No. 2709 is sponsoring a huge rummage and bake sale. There will be something for everyone, clothing, toys, house wares, jewelry, books, specialty items, homemade baked goods and more. Drop-off date for donated items is only 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 5. No old TV’s or printers will be accepted.

 

Flagler County Republican Club meeting

When: Doors open at 5:30 pm, Meeting at 6:00 pm 

Where: Hilton Garden Inn, Palm Coast 

Cost: Food and beverage service available during the event  

Details: Guest speaker Donald O'Brien, chairman of the Board of County Commissioners for Flagler County, will join the club for the evening to share the vision, talk about priorities and the state of the county. Audience Q&A to follow.

‘The Glass Menagerie’

When: 7:30 p.m. opening night

Where: Flagler Playhouse, 301 E. Moody Blvd., Bunnell

Cost: $25 adult; students $20

Details: “The Glass Menagerie” is a memory play as told to us by Tom Wingfield, a merchant marine looking back on the depression years he spent with his overbearing Southern genteel mother, Amanda, and his physically disabled, cripplingly shy sister, Laura.
