Osceola Elementary teacher Melissa Heller had always celebrated the 100th day of school while she taught fourth grade.
Now teaching kindergarten, she decided this year would be no different. All four kindergarten teachers at the school created their own classroom activities for the students to practice counting to 100 — making crowns, fingerprinting, jewelry making and even snacking. The construction theme of "10x10" was evident in the student's yellow hardhats and the teacher's orange shirts.
The kindergarten wing was also "under construction," complete with yellow tape and warning signs on the doors.
This story was updated at 12:08 p.m. on Monday, Feb 4, to correct that Melissa Heller taught fourth grade prior to kindergarten. A previous version of this story stated that she taught middle school.
