Ormond-by-the-Sea is a long way from Ukraine. And the beachside community presents a different lifestyle than the U.S. Army.
A young couple, Jacob and Mila Britton, have begun new lives here and started their own business, Divinity Creations US, offering custom woodworking art for home decor, gifts, etc.
Popular items include signs in the shape of states, sports themes, names and quotes. A customer might say they want something for their beach house, kitchen or man cave. While some people know exactly what they want, most leave it up to Britten to create a design that’s unique and individualized, and that’s what he enjoys most.
After serving as an Army combat medic from 2012 to 2016, Britten studied woodworking using a computerized numerical controller router, known commonly as a CNC. Designs are created on a computer screen and art can be uploaded, allowing complete customization.
The woodcarving can be treated for use as a cutting board or for outside display.
“We even made a checker board with the pieces,” Britten said.
The couple met in Washington D.C. where she was attending college. Civil unrest was breaking out about the time she left her home country of Ukraine, which was alarming to her.
“I want a peaceful life,” she said.
She always had a dream to live near the beach where the weather is nice year-round.
“This is a piece of paradise,” she said. “It’s unbelievable. It’s like something I’ve only seen in movies.”
As a child, Jacob Britton often carved things out of wood such as chess pieces and bows and arrows, and later became interested in robotics, so crafting using a CNC machine combines his lifetime interests.
Mila Britton said if customers give them an idea, they will bring it to life.

Realtor named in top 500
Broker Agent Advisor, a trade publication, has recognized Janet Dannehower, of Adams Cameron and Co., Realtors, in the Certificate of Excellence program, naming her one of the best in real estate based on achievement, potential, leadership, ethics, community value, experience, capability and trust, according to a press release.
Having previously earned the Seven Star Certificate of Excellence, Dannehower has recently been identified as one of the Top 500 award holders in this category.
"With over 8,000 award registrants, the top 500 designation is significant and one of our highest honors,” said Chad Golladay, executive publisher.
“It’s great to see an agent who is so deserving recognized by an independent third party. I think it just reinforces the positive feedback we hear so regularly of Janet,” said John Adams, president of Adams, Cameron and Co.
Dannehower has lived and worked in the Ormond Beach area for more than 20 years and is a member of Adams, Cameron and Co. President’s Club, which honors the top 25 producing agents.
