Aurora Purdy and James Payne, of Palm Coast, and Lucy Noble and Mia Nilsen, of Flagler Beach, competed in the U.S. Lifesaving Association Southeast Regional Junior Lifesaving Championships on Saturday, July 13, in Lake Worth.
Here are the results:
Aurora Purdy (9/10 age group) earned first place in Mixed Swim Relay, second in Beach Run, Surf Swim, Paddleboard Race, Iron Guard and Run Swim Run, fourth place in Beach Flag and fifth place in Rescue Relay with teammate Mia Nilsen.
Mia Nilsen (12/13 age group) earned second place in Mixed Swim Relay, third in Iron Guard, fourth in Paddleboard Race, fifth in Surf Swim and Rescue Relay with teammate Aurora Purdy and sixth place in Run Swim Run.
James Payne (11/12 age group) earned fifth in Beach Run, seventh in Beach Flags and 13th in Paddleboard Race.
Lucy Noble (14/15 age group) earned first in Surf Swim, second in Run Swim Run and Swim Relay, third in Paddle Race and Iron Guard, fourth in Rescue Relay (with Volusia County lifeguards) and second in the under 19 age group for Run Relay (with Fort Lauderdale/Deerfield lifeguards)
