City officials and community leaders gathered at the new Starbucks building on the beachside to officially inaugurate the business's opening with a ribbon-cutting on Wednesday, July 18.
The store, located at 125 E. Granada Blvd., used to operate out of a storefront in the Granada Plaza Shopping Center. Now in its own 2-509-square-foot building, the coffee chain features a modern industrial decor as well as a drive-thru. The building replaced a blighted building on the beachside, and during the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Mayor Bill Partington said the city was looking forward to the new addition.
"We are so excited to have Starbucks in this beautiful new building," Partington said.
Also in attendance was City Commissioner Rob Littleton, developer Charles Lichtigman, store manager Tony Carleo, MainStreet Executive Director Julia Truilo and Becky Parker, and Ormond Beach Chamber of Commerce Membership Director Jeff Hill.
