Dirt Detectives: Archaeology for kids

Details: Presented by the Historical Society, this interactive program for ages 7-12 will let budding archaeologists get hands-on experience exploring Florida history. Marvelous Metric Madness

Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin tribute

When: 7:30 p.m.

Where: Ormond Beach Performing Arts Center, 399 N. U.S. 1

Details: Quadraphonic Surround Sound Productions will present this fully-immersive multimedia concert experience. Concert features the music of these rock legends accompanied by a laser, light and video show. Tickets start at $35. Call 676-3375 or visit ormondbeach.org

Dance lessons

When: 12:30-1:30 p.m.

Where: Ormond Senior Center, 351 Andrews St.

Details: On Wednesdays, the Council on Aging offers dance lessons provided by "Dance With Me" instructors Tom and Jo Sanders. Costs $2. Participants are welcome to stay afterward for a dance gala and social, from 2-4 p.m. featuring live big band music by The Blue Notes. Call 672-4159.

Ormond Beach Historical Loop Bus Tour

When: 9:45 a.m.

Where: The Casements, 25 Riverside Drive

Details: See much of the history and scenery of Ormond Beach via the Ormond Beach Historical Society’s bus tour. Beginning at The Casements, the tour includes the Loop, the Three Chimneys Sugar Mill Ruins and a visit to see the Fairchild Oak. Tickets must be purchased in advance at the MacDonald House, located at 38 E. Granada Blvd. Tickets cost $22 for adults, $20 for Historical Society members and $7 for ages 5-12. Tour takes about two hours. Call 677-7005.

Friday, Aug. 2

Walking with the manager 

When: 8 a.m.

Where: Einstein Bros. Bagels, 110 S. Nova Road

Details: Join City Manager Joyce Shanahan for a 2-mile walk on the Forest Hill Trails Connector. Meet in the parking lot of Einstein Bros. Bagels. Entire walk is along paved surfaces. Assistant City Engineer Shawn Finley will be the guest walker.
