PT Solutions Physical Therapy first branched into Palm Coast nearly five years ago. The business took over the physical therapy clinic at Florida Hospital Flagler (now AdventHealth Palm Coast).

PT Solutions never had a stand-alone facility — until now. PT Solutions opened up its newest Palm Coast location about a week ago.

"We have a lot of weekend warriors who injure themselves playing sports. We want to better educate these individuals to prevent them from h aving any serious injury and to prolong their health."

The new office is located at 250 Palm Coast Parkway NE, Unit 209, in the Island Walk Shopping Center.

“We wanted to make it that much more accessible for our patients,” said Luis Hernandez, PT Solutions’ vice president of operations. “This just allows us to have a larger thumb print in the community.”

There will be a strong emphasis on sports medicine at the new office. PT Solutions has been involved with the area’s youth sports for some time now, employing certified athletic trainers at both Flagler Palm Coast and Matanzas high schools. The athletic trainers are at the schools Monday through Friday and attend athletic events across all sports, providing acute care to injured athletes.

“We want to put the athletes at ease because they’re going to get the best care possible,” Hernandez said.

In addition, the new office also has a concussion center.

“It’s extremely important [to have this],” Hernandez said of the concussion center. “We can manage their symptoms appropriately and help them recover.”

However, Hernandez said that the overall goal is to provide the same quality care to all of PT Solutions patients — not just student-athletes.

“This community is an active community,” he said. “We have quite a few active patients throughout this community, whether their golfers, pickleball players or tennis players. We want the community to know that we’re here to provide for them."

  • The AdventHealth Palm Coast Foundation donated three automated external defibrillators that will be on-site and available at baseball fields throughout Flagler County and at the softball fields at the Indian Trails Sports Complex. AEDs are portable devices that check the heart rhythm and treat sudden cardiac arrest. If needed, it can send an electric shock to the heart to try to restore a normal rhythm. This gift was inspired by Dr. Joe McKinley, a gastroenterologist at AdventHealth. He volunteers as a baseball coach for his three sons, and through that experience, he learned that none of the area baseball or softball fields have AEDs on site.
