The parking lot was full for the soft opening July 24 of the new Sam’s Club, located on the south side of LPGA Boulevard east of the Interstate 95 interchange. A large crowd of shoppers waited outside for the opening, including a group from Margaritaville who were first in line.
Just before the soft opening at 5 p.m., a there was a ribbon cutting complete with a deejay from Brock Entertainment who entertained the crowd of employees and invited guests. Several dignitaries were on hand, including County Chairman and former Ormond Beach Mayor Ed Kelley, who said he has had a Sam’s Club card since 1992.
“I’m not going to miss driving to Daytona from Ormond Beach,” he told the crowd.
