Press release by Nadine King, Christmas Come True
Monopoly fans can participate in a 90-minute qualification round of the world’s most popular property trading game on Sunday, June 30. The event is from 4-9 p.m. at Channel Side, 1 Yacht Club Drive.
Get ready to roll the dice and test your real estate skills at the area’s only Monopoly-inspired fundraiser to help Flagler County children. Both teens and adults will compete in the fun and excitement of a fast paced match for high-priced properties like Boardwalk and Park Place, or worst case scenario, ‘Go to Jail!’ Top three players from each team will face-off in a second round for a grand prize and bragging rights.
“We had been looking for a unique event which we could call our own, then one day a nonprofit event planner contacted us offering to do this event for us, and the rest is history,” said Nadine King, Founder/Executive Director of Christmas Come True.
Proceeds from the event will underwrite a new scholarship program that Christmas Come True is offering to teens who truly desire to attend a local technical school to further their education. This scholarship is to encourage our future leaders to stay in Flagler County, learn in Flagler County and be in business in Flagler County.
One of Flagler County’s community leaders will be depicting a Mr. MONOPOLY® likeness and serving as master of ceremonies for the function, which features a cash bar, a generous selection of appetizers, memorable activities, ‘Chance’ raffles, and a silent auction. We are inviting local businesses to participate in the excitement and sponsor various elements of the MONOPOLY® game board.
