Five Port Orange businesses affected in early morning burglaries

The businesses burglarized are located on Dunlawton Avenue and Taylor Road.

The Port Orange Police Department is investigating a series of business burglaries that occurred in the early morning on Tuesday, March 5, according to a press release.

These burglaries are similar to ones that occurred overnight in Edgewater and New Smyrna Beach and appear to be related, police report. 

The businesses affected were:

  • Moe’s Southwest Grill – 1812 Dunlawton Ave.
  • Monterey Grill – 1665 Dunlawton Ave. #101
  • Legends Nail Bar – 1665 Dunlawton Ave. #102

  • Daily Grind Burgers – 1665 Dunlawton Ave. #104
  • Marathon Gas Station – 1702 Taylor Road

Police report the suspect is described as a black male around 30 years old. He has a beard and is wearing a black button-down shirt, black pants, black shoes and an Atlanta Falcons hat. He has a gray glove on the left hand and a black glove on the right hand.

The suspect's vehicle appears to be a dark colored newer model Chevrolet Malibu, according to police.
