Belle Terre Elementary School teacher Ashley Allen wants to build her students' STEM knowledge brick by brick — by taking them to Legoland in Central Florida.
If Allen raises a total of $3,207 — the amount for tickets and transportation — on DonorsChoose.org by March 23, her students will be able to enjoy the park and get a hands-on STEM training on April 23, she said.
Allen said that this trip would be a great way to finish the school year, as the students learn about force and motion in quarter four and even make their own balloon cars and marble roller coasters to demonstrate these ideas.
"The students could observe force and motion firsthand, as well as see the creativity of different Lego creations throughout the park," Allen said. "Our Legoland experience would also include a STEM workshop working with robots and drones so the students can further engage in putting science into real world scenarios."
So far, $50 has been raised. Visit http://tiny.cc/zq1s3y to donate.
