Alcoholic beverage prohibitions. A 41-year-old Ormond Beach man was arrested after police saw him drinking from a bottle — later confirmed to be Fireball Whiskey — while walking on the sidewalk. Police had been contacted after a grocery store manager called in that the man had threatened him. The officer was informed that the man smelled of alcohol and walked with a limp.
The man confirmed to an officer that he had been in a confrontation with the grocery store manager, and the officer noticed his slurred speech and orbital swaying as he stood. Since the man kept putting his hand in his left pocket, the officer placed him with restraints and patted him down for weapons. According to the report, the officer was by himself and feared the man could be reaching for a weapon.
No weapons were found on his body, but the man did have an extra bottle of Fireball Whiskey in his jacket.

Possession of marijuana. An 18-year-old Daytona Beach man was issued a notice to appear in court after police found 18.9 grams of weed in his car. The discovery hadn't come as a surprise; the man told police there was a blunt in the center console as soon as he was asked to step out of his vehicle.
Police conducted a traffic stop on the man after noticing his vehicle's dark tint. The officer could smell "the odor of burning marijuana" as soon as he made contact with the man. He also spotted the blunt the man later told him about.
The man was released and issued a written warning for his tint.

DUI. Police arrested a 56-year-old Ormond Beach man on his way home from a Daytona Beach strip club who was driving 30 miles over the speed limit. Once stopped, an officer reported the man's speech was very slurred and that he could smell the alcohol on the man's breath.
The man failed the field sobriety exercises and was placed in handcuffs. He later told police that he had two beers and 1 shot of Schnapps at the strip club. Police found a marijuana cigarette in his car, but the man said it was not his — however, he did admit to using medical marijuana. He was then taken to jail.
