Boynton Beach woman drives into Port Orange retention pond

A 54-year-old woman was rescued after she intentionally drove into a retention pond, according to Port Orange Police.

A 54-year-old woman was removed from her vehicle by a citizen after she drove it into a retention pond on Friday, May 24, according to the Port Orange Police Department.

POPD responded to the scene at 900 N. Swallowtail Drive at approximately 11 a.m. Upon initial investigation, police believe the woman intentionally drove into the pond, according to a press release. The woman is from Boynton Beach and was the only person in the vehicle.  

The woman was uninjured and taken to Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach for evaluation.
