The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation on Farragut Drive in Palm Coast. Deputies and medical rescue personnel responded to a residence on Farragut Drive around 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, after a 911 call was received stating that an adult woman had shot herself but was still alive.

The woman was taken to a trauma hospital where she died. The FCSO Investigative Services Division is conducting the death investigation to have a thorough understanding of the incident.

“All deaths are investigated to ensure that nothing criminal may have occurred,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “While there will continue to be law enforcement presence in the area for the investigation, I want the community to know that there is no threat or cause for concern.”

This is all of the information available for release at this time. Additional information will be provided as the investigation continues.
