One woman dead after being hit by SUV on West Granada Boulevard

Police report the woman was at a crosswalk with another pedestrian when both were struck.

A woman died and a man is in the hospital after an SUV struck them on Monday, May 27, while they were on the crosswalk at the intersection of West Granada Boulevard and Seminole Drive. 

Ormond Beach Police reported to the scene at around 3:40 p.m., and said witnesses stated the white Chevy SUV sideswiped a black Nissan four-door vehicle before striking the two adults on the crosswalk. A third vehicle was also damaged in the crash. Both the man and woman were transported to AdventHealth Daytona Beach, and the woman died from her injuries. 

The identities of those involved have not been released. OBPD reported this is an ongoing investigation.
