The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by Labor Finders, a staffing agency, on June 27 regarding potential fraudulent activity by a former employee. Cory Neil Hall, 27, of Palm Coast, who began working at Labor Finders on March 25 had potentially falsified his time sheets.

Hall had been working at Delfinos at the Club at Hammock Beach Resort when restaurant management found that 49 out of 70 time sheets he submitted had been signed off on using inconsistent signatures by restaurant staff. Each of the 49 invoices listed a sous chef at Delfinos as the authorizing employee, but the signature did not match previous invoices from the same sous chef. The total listed amount billed by Labor Finders to Delfinos was $15,786.15. Of the total amount billed, Delfinos had already paid $5,285.25.

The investigation determined that Hall was paid $10,887 by Labor Finders for the 49 fraudulent invoices. Signatures from Delfinos employees were taken by detectives and compared to the signatures on the invoices. They determined that they were not a match. Although 49 fraudulent invoices were reviewed, it was determined that due to record keeping detectives would only be able to charge Hall with 30 counts of uttering a forgery, which totaled $10,887. Hall would also be charged with grand theft over $10,000.

Hall was unable to be located by detectives throughout the entirety of the investigation. Due to this, detectives sought an arrest warrant from a Flagler County judge. On Oct. 30, 2019, Judge Terence Perkins signed an arrest warrant for Hall for one count of uttering a forged instrument and one count of grand theft. The bond is set at $10,000. Extradition is for surrounding states only.

“He thought he could write his own checks and deceive his employer,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “I suggest he face his charges and turn himself in before he finds himself in even more trouble as he is now considered a fugitive from justice.”

Hall has been trespassed from Delfinos. Hall may have fled back to his home state of Ohio due to this pending case against him.

If you have any information on Hall, call Crimestoppers at 1-888-277-TIPS (8477). You can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward up to $5,000.
