Mainland football's place kicker, Ethan Gettman, announced that he received a scholarship offer from Sacred Heart University. Located in Fairfield, Connecticut, the Pioneers are a Division I program that plays in the Northeast Conference.
Seabreeze's boys soccer team competed in the Merritt Island Preseason Invitational on Nov. 5. The Sandcrabs beat Merritt Island 2-1 in the first game and then dominated Eau Gallie 5-0 in the second game.
The Buccaneers' Ethan Gettman (kicker) and Ra'Mello Dotson (defensive back) were named to East Roster for the 21st-annual Central Florida All-Star Game, which will be held at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 12 at Lake Brantley High School.
Former Mainland football player Nathaniel Dell, who plays college football for Independence Community College, announced that he received a scholarship offer from Central Michigan University. Based in Mount Pleasant, the Chippewas are a Division I team that plays in the Mid-American Conference.
Father Lopez's girls cross country team placed sixth at the FHSAA State Cross Country Meet the morning of Saturday, Nov. 9. The Green Wave was led by seniors Samantha Gayton and Claire McDonnell. Gayton placed 11th with a time of 19:46.78, and McDonnell placed 14th with a time of 19:52.81.
