A car crashed into the woods along southbound Interstate 95 at mile marker 293 near the Matanzas Woods Parkway exit shortly before 7 p.m. the evening of Nov. 11, causing a lane blockage.

The driver was the only person in the car, which rolled several times before landing in the woods in what appeared to be a single-vehicle crash. The driver was thrown from the vehicle during the crash, but was alert and conscious with first responders on the scene.

The Flagler County Sheriff's Office responded to the crash and then turned the scene over to the Florida Highway Patrol, according to an FCSO spokeswoman. A southbound lane remained blocked as of 7:45 p.m. as first responders worked to clear the scene.
