Matanzas cheerleading's Madison Asbill and Alessandra Robinson, both captains for the Pirates, tried out for the All-American title this past summer and both earned their titles. Both girls, in addition to junior Mar Figueroa, are traveling together to London in December to represent Matanzas High school for London’s New Year’s Day parade.
Flagler Palm Coast volleyball players Valerie Chum, Adesuwa Salami and Faythe Taugher participated at the EXOS Select 50 instructional showcase on Nov. 9 in Pensacola. The event featured 50 of the top tier talents from high schools in Florida, Alabama and Georgia.
Matanzas softball player Isabella Santiago committed to Santa Fe College in Gainesville. Santiago, a senior who was named the Pirates' Defensive Player of the Year last season, will sign her national letter of intent at a signing ceremony on Dec. 3
Three FPC student-athletes recently signed their national letters of intent to play college sports: hurdler Nathan Farrell signed with Iowa, and soccer players Ashley Puentes and Mary Pickett signed with Valdosta State and Jacksonville University, respectively.
Matanzas cross country's Dalton Hawley, who competed in the FHSAA Cross County State meet nearly a week ago, was selected to compete in the Florida Athletic Coaches Association's All-Star Classic.
