Palm Coast resident Greg Heartt was presented with a 2019 USPTA U30 award. According to USPTA ADDvantage Magazine, he "grew the USPTA Florida U30 program to over 250 professionals through his volunteer work as the Membership Project Team Lead. He is also the president of the USPTA Florida Orlando Division and was recognized for his community involvement and work in connecting tennis pros in the Orlando area. He also teamed up with USTA Florida to grow tennis involvement in local schools. His passion for the game is evident through his commitment to the U30 program."
Despite a 28-21 loss to Central State University on Saturday, Oct. 5, Edward Waters College freshman running back Deshaun Hugee, who played last year for FPC, set the school record for most rushing yards gained in a game.
Flagler Palm Coast track and field's Nathan Farrell went on an official visit to the University of Florida the weekend of Oct. 5-6. "Thank you to the University of Florida coaching staff for an awesome official visit," tweeted Farrell, who is one of the top hurdlers in the state.
Former Bulldogs football players Que'shaun Byrd and Jimmie Robinson had outstanding games for Bethune-Cookman in the Wildcats' 31-20 victory over Morgan State on Saturday. Byrd rushed 13 times for 83 yards and caught one pass for 18 yards. Robinson hauled in five passes for 136 yards and three touchdowns.
FPC's varsity and junior varsity cheerleaders held a cheer clinic on Saturday, Sept. 28, at FPC’s 800 gym. They had over 40 participants of various ages and skill levels. Cheerleaders and coaches taught cheers, jumps, dances, tumbling and stunts.
