AdventHealth Palm Coast has begun a nearly $850,000 construction project to build a seventh operating room inside the surgical services department.
In 2018, surgeons at AdventHealth Palm Coast performed nearly 10,000 surgical procedures.
“We’ve outgrown our current space. All six of our operating rooms are used by our surgeons at 100% capacity for scheduled procedures,” said Lauretta Kiniery, director of surgical services at AdventHealth Palm Coast.
To accommodate the emergency procedures, Kiniery explained that scheduled surgeries are sometimes delayed until the emergency surgery is completed. The new operating room will “ decompress the scheduling struggles we have now,” she said.
Construction is expected to be completed in January.
To support the fight against breast cancer, Palm Coast Ford will donate $50 to the AdventHealth Palm Coast Foundation for each car sold during October.

Palm Coast Community Church has expanded its preschool with the creation of Palm Coast Community School, a private school with a current enrollment of 10 students in kindergarten to fifth grade, as of August of this year.
“Our goal is to support children’s desire to be lifelong learners while connecting families to discover real relationships with Christ and each other,” according to Julie Davis, director of communications.

For every referral that buys or sells real estate this year with Take Action Properties, the company is making a donation to the Family Life Center, with the goal to raise $25,000.
The FLC provides support to individuals and families who are victims of domestic violence and sexual violence in Flagler County.

The city of Palm Coast recently issued a development order for O’Reilly Automotive Parts, at 4845 Palm Coast Parkway N.W., at the corner of Bridgehaven Drive, just east of West Point Plaza.
Also, a development order was issued in September for Coastal Rehab and Sports Medicine for a one-story 2,992-square-foot building to be located at 360 Palm Coast Parkway N.E., which is east of Colbert Lane and west of the Watchtower Educational Center.
La Shawarma Restaurant, at 1475 Palm Coast Parkway, Unit 102, has applied for $70,000 worth of interior renovations.
