The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 35-year-old Bunnell man the evening of Oct. 13 after he threatened to kill an AdventHealth Palm Coast employee and shoot up the hospital, leading to a lockdown at the facility.
Kelsey Anderson was taken into custody for an active arrest warrant for written threats to kill after he was located at Hidden Trails Community Park in Bunnell.
Anderson is being booked into the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility and held without bond pending first appearance by a Judge.
“Our team did an excellent job in working this case, following all leads and apprehending the suspect,” Sheriff Staly said. “Now he can return to the Green Roof Inn where he belongs and the victim and Advent Health Palm Coast can be safe and return to normal operations. We take all threats seriously and I'm glad this incident ended with no injuries.”
The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office had received a 911 call at 12:15 p.m. Oct. 13 from AdventHealth Palm Coast after an employee of the hospital received a Facebook message from a domestic partner threatening to shoot her and shoot up the hospital.
The hospital was placed on lockdown while deputies sought the man who wrote the threat. The investigation revealed that Anderson was the man who had sent the message.
There is no indication that he was ever at the hospital, although he indicated he was there waiting to kill her.
Deputies searched for the subject throughout Flagler County and issued a “BOLO” (be-on-the-lookout) notice to surrounding counties.
The lockdown was lifted at the hospital, but there was an increased law enforcement presence there until Anderson was arrested.
“We’re asking the community that if you know where this guy is, call us and let us pick him up,” Sheriff Rick Staly said as deputies searched for the fugitive. “He has cost the taxpayers a lot of money and we will be seeking reimbursement through the courts. We have extra deputies on the roadways and at the hospital to ensure the safety of the public but the sooner this guy is in custody the better. I suggest he turn himself in before he faces additional charges, as we will get him.”
Anderson has a prior arrest history in Flagler County for charges including grand theft, burglary, and dealing in stolen property.
