In their last two games, the Buccaneers have outscored their opponents 94-34. Mainland (4-3) pounded New Smyrna Beach 42-6 the night of Friday, Oct. 18, at the New Smyrna Beach Sports Complex.
The Barracudas struck first after taking the opening kickoff 98 yards to Mainland's 1. The Barracudas scored a rushing touchdown with 11 minutes left in the first quarter.
Mainland's Isaiah Gordon finished the responding drive drive with a 4-yard touchdown run.
After a touchdown pass from T.J. Lockley to Taron Keith, the Buccaneers' Lemondre Joe tipped a pass to himself for an interception and took it back for a score to give Mainland a 22-6 lead with 2:16 to play in the half. Ra'Mello Dotson added a 50-yard pick six on the Barracudas' next drive. Finally, R.J. Turner recorded Mainland's third pick six of the night to give the Buccaneers a 35-6 lead with 9:04 to go in the third quarter.
The Buccaneers are 3-1 in their last four games and are on a two-game winning streak.
