Undercover detectives used numerous tips from the community to arrest a suspected drug dealer on Poppy Lane, on Thursday, Oct. 24. Three children, ages 1, 9 and 12, were also at the home and were turned over to a family member.
"All this for a little bit of weed," Shane Brock told detectives, according to the arrest report.
The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office reported on the incident through a press release, stating that the Special Investigations Unit obtained a search warrant for 20 Poppy Lane after months of undercover operations.
Detectives confirmed that narcotics were being sold from the residence and witnessed non-stop traffic coming and going from the residence at all hours of the day and night.
During the search, detectives found baggies of cocaine hidden in an American flag sock. They also found baggies of marijuana on a TV stand. In all, they seized over 3 ounces of cocaine, with an approximate street value of $7,200. Numerous scales, packaging materials, and approximately one ounce of cannabis along with $3,000 cash, believed to be proceeds from narcotics sales, were also seized.
Detectives arrested Christopher Shane Brock on drug charges and booked him at the jail with a bond of $26,000. The Florida Department of Children and Family Services was notified as well.
"All this for a little bit of weed," Brock told detectives, according to the arrest report.
“An informed community is an engaged community, and in this situation the community’s tip led to shutting down a drug dealer’s business as well as getting young children out of a dangerous environment,” Sheriff Rick Staly said in the press release. “I have one message to poison peddlers: Get this poison out of your house, out of our county, and stop putting adults and children’s lives in danger or you will find yourself at the Green Roof Inn facing serious felony charges.”
Additional charges are pending, and the investigation is ongoing.
