Another man's trash

1:35 p.m. — 1000 block of West Granada Boulevard

Suspicious incident. A garbage man accidentally sent a local bank into lockdown after he propped up a pellet gun outside of the building while he went in to use the restroom.

Police report that the 30-year-old garbage man had found the gun while picking up trash. His co-workers had dropped him off at the bank because he couldn't ride on the back of the truck while they dumped the garbage. When he exited the bathroom, he found the bank "in a panic" and left, throwing the gun into a dumpster.

After police confirmed his story, the garbage man was released from the scene with the pellet gun.

Costly hangout

9:31 p.m. — 200 block of South Atlantic Avenue

Larceny. A man staying in a local hotel found himself short of $680 after he met up with an old high school friend, who disappeared shortly after she offered to get him another drink. The two had been hanging out at the hotel pool, police report.

After waiting 15 minutes, the man went to the room to check in on her and that's when he realized she was gone. He also discovered his money was missing. The man told police he tried to contact the woman through Facebook, but she blocked him.

The man will be pressing charges.
