1:48 p.m. — 1100 block of West Granada Boulevard
Operating with a suspended license. At first glance, a local police officer found nothing wrong with the ID a 46-year-old Daytona Beach woman provided him when she was pulled over for speeding. However, the woman's passenger ratted her out to police.
It turned out that it wasn't her ID after all, but that of her passenger's daughter. When the officer asked the woman why he gave her someone else's ID, the woman said her license was suspended.
Her license was actually canceled in 2018. She was taken to jail.
7:30 p.m. — first block of North Capri Drive
Battery touch. A 56-year-old woman was arrested for throwing a remote and biting her husband during an argument. Her husband used a broom to push her back, according to a police report.
Police made contact with the woman outside of the home, and the reporting officer noted that she was drunk. The woman kept repeating that she and her husband were arguing, that he hit her with a broom and that he had anger issues.
The husband told police that after she threw the remote at him, he yelled at her, at which point she began to bite him. He had several abrasions on his arm.
His wife was taken to jail.
6:07 a.m. — 100 block of Old Mill Run
False name. A 40-year-old man gave officers two false names before finally admitting the truth, shortly after he was caught loitering around a local neighborhood. Police were called by a homeowner who saw the man on his Ring doorbell try to enter his house.
The man told police he lied at first because the officer scared him. Due to the recent car break-ins in nearby neighborhoods, police detained him after the second name didn't turn up any records, according to a police report.
After he revealed his identity to police, the reporting officer discovered he was in violation of his probation. He was taken to jail.
