After getting shutout against Atlantic on Monday, Sept. 9, the Sandcrabs looked to bounce back against Deltona on Friday, Sept. 13, at Deltona High School. The Sandcrabs gave up two long touchdowns to the Timberwolves and went into halftime clinging onto a 17-14 lead.
"We're a team that's been through a lot of adversity," Seabreeze coach Pat Brown said. "We put a lot of work in this offseason, so Friday is supposed to be our pay day."
On the legs of running back Otis Walker, who rushed for 150 yards and three touchdowns, Seabreeze opened district play up with its second victory of the season in a 32-14 rout of the Timberwolves.
The Sandcrabs were able to pull away in the third and fourth quarters. In the final period, Walker broke free for a 48-yard touchdown run.
The Sandcrabs (2-2) have already surpassed their win total for last season.
"They know as far as our leadership and our coaching staff, we're going to make adjustments," Brown said.
