Matanzas wrestling's S.J. Culbreth and Quenteen Robinson battled through 64-man brackets at Osceola High School on Saturday to qualify for the Super 32 Challenge on Oct. 12-13 in Greensboro, North Carolina. They were the only local wrestlers to qualify for the event. The Super 32 Challenge is arguably the toughest high school wrestling tournament in the country.
Buddy Taylor cross country's Jordan Gales finished in ninth place in Buddy Taylor Middle School's first cross country meet of the season the morning of Saturday, Sept. 14. With the top 10 finish, Gales became the first cross country runner from BTMS to medal in school history.
Flagler Palm Coast track and field's Nathan Farrell, one of the top hurdlers in the state, announced that he went on an official visit to the University of South Florida, a Division I program in Tampa. Farrell also visited the University of Northern Arizona nearly a week ago.
Former FPC football player Jimmie Robinson had one rush for 7 yards, one catch for 17 yards and six kick returns for 103 yards in Bethune-Cookman's loss to Miami on Saturday.
FPC's volleyball team, which jumped out to a 6-1 record this season, visited the University of Florida and attended a Florida Gators volleyball match against Long Beach State on Saturday. The team got to meet with UF's players and head coach Mary Wise after the match.
