To the city commissioners:
I am writing you about a couple of upcoming items that you will be voting on at the Ormond Beach Commission Meetings.
I think the landscaping in Ormond Beach looks good. I do not think that new landscaping of any kind is necessary. Do not remove the landscaping on Granada Boulevard and replace it with anything else.
I do not have a problem with manufactured homes, in fact, some of my friends live in them. However, I do not think it is necessary to annex the Plantation Oaks manufactured home community into the city. I do not want to support maintenance of roads, or any other services to this development. It is my understanding that there are no other manufactured home communities benefitted by Ormond Beach services, except water.
I do not understand why any individual or developer would want to buy a property if they are not going to build according to the existing zoning. No one would buy a property where everywhere there are homes, and then build a warehouse. I think the city should allow only development for the existing zoning. What constitutes a change in zoning on a regular basis?
