Flagler Palm Coast's volleyball team defeated Deltona in four sets the night of Friday, Sept. 17, at FPC High School. It was the Bulldogs' third win in a row and their seventh victory of the season. However, Bulldogs head coach Trent Schake was not happy with his team after the match.
"It's a disappointing win," Schake said. "There are moments where I'd rather lose a hard-fought game than win won like that."
The Bulldogs captured the first two sets with relative easy, defeating the Timberwolves 25-17 and 25-16, respectively. Then Deltona battled back, dominating the third set 25-11. Deltona had a large lead in the fourth set, as well, but FPC responded, winning 25-23 to close out the match.
FPC senior Tori Chiang led the Bulldogs with nine kills, and junior Valerie Chum had a game-high 27 assists.
"I'm glad we won, but we did not play well tonight," Schake said. "We've got to fix it."
