Perrine’s Produce continues to move forward with their redeveloping at the old Food Lion located at 3812 Clyde Morris Blvd, and are anticipating to open late this year.
Perrine’s Produce will sell fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as a wide variety of other products including Amish products, local honey, jellies, old-fashioned snacks and craft beverages. It will also have a full-service deli, ice cream parlor, wine and beer, some of which are included in part of their other locations, according to a city manager’s weekly update.
There are currently three other Perrine’s Produce locations in New Smyrna Beach, Ormond Beach and Titusville. The Port Orange location would be its largest store and would function as the regional distribution facility.
The owner of Perrine’s Produce also anticipates submitting building permits to update the existing Clyde Morris Boulevard shopping center monument sign and add a second sign along Madeline Avenue.
Perrine’s Produce qualifies as a Port Orange targeted business as this location will be their headquarters and regional distribution center for their other stores. It will add 50-60 jobs and as a targeted business, it intends to request an economic incentive agreement with the city to offset fees associated with renovating the current abandoned space.
Workout Anytime, a multi-unit franchise, will be opening this fall in Port Orange and will be located at 3830 S. Nova Road.
This will be the second location within the surrounding Daytona Beach area, totaling to 17 Workout Anytime gyms in Florida. Steve Ayers, the man opening the franchise, has spent the last eight years as the chief revenue officer for ABC Financial Services, a provider of software and payment processing in the health and fitness industry.
When it came to joining Workout Anytime, Ayers was given an opportunity in Florida to help grow the brand. Port Orange was a community he wanted to grow in, due to his wife growing up in the area and her parents still live in the community. They are also former educators.
