Pedestrian struck and killed on Interstate 95

The pedestrian had walked into the center lane, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.

A pedestrian was struck and killed in the middle of northbound Interstate 95 in southern Flagler County the morning of April 10. 

The individual, whose identifying information has not yet been released by authorities, had walked into the roadway near Mile Marker 282 at 6:26 a.m. and was struck by a Mercedes Benz S430 that was heading north in the center lane, according to Florida Highway Patrol report.

Mile Marker 282 is between the Old Dixie Highway exit and the State Road 100 exit.

The pedestrian and the car came to rest in the center median. The driver of the car, New York resident Luigi Tucci, 75, was not injured, nor was his passenger, 73-year-old Lucia Tucci, according to the FHP report.
