A wooden frame house at 2043 S. Daytona Ave, in Flagler Beach, went up in flames on the evening of Saturday, April 11. Flagler Beach Emergency Personnel were on the scene as of 8:50 p.m. "The cause of the fire was deemed accidental by the State Fire Marshall," the Flagler Beach Fire Department reported on Facebook.
Shocked neighbors gathered around to watch as flames climbed the upstairs windows and wrapped up the interior of the car parked in the driveway of the engulfed home. According to flaglerpa.com, the home is owned by Jennifer and Marshall Mears.
The Flagler Beach Fire Department posted the following information on its Facebook page early on the morning of April 12:
"Last night multiple units from the Flagler Beach Fire Department, Flagler County Fire Department and Palm Coast Fire Department were called to the scene of a house fire in Flagler Beach. First arriving crews were presented with heavy fire condition throughout the house and were forced to conduct defensive operations.
