On April 15 at the third city of Palm Coast Virtual Town Hall, Mayor Milissa Holland announced the launch of the Mayor’s Rise Up Palm Coast Initiative aimed at connecting our community in never-before-seen ways through these unprecedented times.

“We’re partnering with organizations and representatives throughout Palm Coast to deliver dynamic, engaging virtual content to help you live a healthy, fulfilling life in even the most challenging times,” Mayor Holland said. “You’ll be able to learn about cooking healthy meals, exercise at home, discover family activities, enjoy arts, performances and more. We’re building an ecosystem of engagement for you, our residents. And you’ll be able to view it all on the Palm Coast Parks & Recreation Facebook page beginning Monday, April 20.”

Community groups and members can provide the city with video content that relates to their organization and the services or programs they host by uploading videos to www.palmcoastconnect.com/s/parks-and-recreation. City staff will then schedule and post it to the Parks & Rec Facebook page, providing a unified space for the community to learn, entertain and connect from their home during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We miss all of our residents and we know they miss our parks, trails and facilities, but it’s important for everyone to stay home and stay safe at this time,” said Parks & Recreation Director Lauren Johnston. “We are so excited to be able to connect with our community in new ways and we can’t wait to see what they think of all the activities we have planned.”

If you are with an organization or business and have virtual content you would like to share with us, please submit your video at www.palmcoastconnect.com/s/parks-and-recreation now. We are welcoming any virtual content that you’ve already made to share with our followers and would like to schedule even more content in the weeks to come so that our community has a wide variety of options.
