The Halifax Humane Society has renewed its adoption program again, though it will be conducted virtually.
Those wishing to adopt a pet can meet the animal via Zoom or Facebook, and if the adoption is carried out, Halifax Humane Society will deliver the animal to them. To adopt, contact [email protected].
Here are four pets available for adoption:
The first is Cabeza, an 8-year-old terrier, American Staffordshire and bulldog mix with a tan and white coat. He is one of the few dogs still housed at the shelter. His previous foster let HHS know that Cabeza is friendly with people and loves children. He also loves sleeping in the same bed as his people, and tunnels under the blankets. He also knows how to sit on command. HHS recommends he be the only dog in the household. His adoption fee is $35.
The second is Scooby, a 7-year-old terrier and American Staffordshire mix with a brown coat. He came to Halifax Humane Society as an owner surrender in early April. Though he can be a bit shy at first, he's a playful dog. He will do fine in a household with other large dogs, but is not a good fit for a household with a smaller dog or cat.
The third is Bessie, an 8-year-old Labrador retriever mix with a black coat. She is very calm, well-trained and likes to lay on her foster parent's lap to nap. Bessie also loves bath time. She doesn't appear to be interested in toys, and her foster parent said "she's pretty much a couch potato type of dog." Her adoption fee is $70.
Last but not least is Sprinkles, a 5-year-old domestic shorthair mix with a brown and black coat. She is a shy cat at first, but loves attention and sitting in the sunniest spot on the bed. Her favorite toys are laser pointers and anything that squeaks. She is currently in a foster home with a young male cat, but would likely prefer to a home to herself.
