Two cats and three dogs have been featured as this week's Halifax Humane Society Adoptable Pets of the Week.
The cats are Sheera and Starr, a pair of 4-month-old black female kittens who came to the shelter after being found as strays. There are bonded to each other, and very friendly, so the Halifax Humane Society is aiming to get them adopted together. Their adoption fee is $50 each.
The first dog is Dawg, a 3-year-old pointer mix with a white and brown coat. He loves treats, going for walks and his Mr. Burrito toy. He doesn't like being in a kennel very much and would benefit from going to a home and family that understands he may not do well in a crate or confined space. Email [email protected] or call 274-4703, extension 326, to meet him.
The second is Misty, a 5-year-old shepherd mix with a caramel and white coat. She arrived to the Halifax Humane Society as a stray and has yet to be claimed. She loves going on walks, and can be a little shy at first. Her adoption fee is $70.
Last but not least is Clifford, a 10-year-old American Staffordshire terrier mix with a white coat. He also came in as a stray and has not been claimed. He is a chill dog, but is heartworm positive and requires treatment at $140, plus a one year purchase of heartworm preventative medication. His adoption fee is $35.
The Halifax Humane Society is now open to the public by appointment only during its regular business hours. To adopt, contact [email protected] or call 274-4703.
