Three dogs and one cat have been featured as this week's Halifax Humane Society Adoptable Pets of the Week.
The first dog is Tomoka, a 3-year-old terrier, American Staffordshire and Australian cattle dog mix with a white and blue coat. She is a fun-loving dog searching for a family with a good sense of humor. Her adoption fee is $70.
The next is Nina, a 3-year-old terrier and American Staffordshire with a grey and white coat. She is shy, but would be perfect in a patient and relaxed home. Her adoption fee is $70.
The third dog is Baja, an 11-month-old Treeing Tennessee brindle mix. He originally came to the shelter in September after his owner surrendered him for not getting along with the child in the home. HHS says Baja was very shut down and fearful in the shelter environment, but thankfully, a foster stepped forward and he has since begun to blossom. He tends to shy away from sudden or loud noises, but grows more confident when surrounded by other dogs, so HHS recommends he goes to a home with other dogs around, as well as home with children older than 12. Last but not least is is Jasper, a 2-year-old domestic medium hair mix with a white and black coat. He is part of a bonded pair with a cat named Oreo, and the HHS would like for them to stay together. He is an adventurous cat that also has her cuddly moments. He is located at the PetSmart at International Speedway Boulevard. His adoption fee is $50.
The HHS is open to the public during its regular business hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. Appointments are required for admissions, boarding and grooming. There is no appointment required to visit the adoption lobby. Masks are required. To adopt, contact [email protected] or call 274-4703.
