2:51 p.m. — 200 block of Woodstock Court
Burglary. A husband and wife pressed charges after an unknown suspect broke a window and used the toilet at a house the couple is trying to sell.
The husband told police that everything had been intact a couple days before. The suspect is believed to have also went upstairs and let a blind down, according to police. Nothing was taken. Police dusted the toilet handle for fingerprints and were able to find a lone fingerprint. The smashed window was valued at $600.
Police spoke to neighbors who said they didn't hear or see anything out of the ordinary.
12:45 p.m. — 100 block of East Granada Boulevard
Criminal mischief. An 18-year-old Daytona Beach man who spray-painted his nickname, among other phrases, both inside and outside a vacant building told police that he was "sorry bro," and offered to pay for the damages. However, he also told them he had no job so he couldn't pay anytime soon, according to police.
The officers had been acquainted with the man before. The man said he was "messed up and was upset about issues in life," according to the police report. He was taken to jail.
5:22 p.m. — 1500 block of North U.S. 1
Petit theft. Police arrested a 30-year-old Ormond Beach man who stole dog food and a pregnancy test from a local dollar store.
When in the patrol car, the officer asked he had stolen the items. The man said his dog was hungry and "eating the door," and that he thought "someone" was pregnant, according to the police report.
Because the man had failed to appear in court before, he was taken to jail.
