Real estate brokers Bill Navarra and Buzzy Porter, principals at Realty Pros Assured, recently donated a passenger van to Conklin Center for the Blind, of Daytona Beach, according to a press release from the center. The Realtors worked out a deal with Steve McDonald, general manager of Fields BMW, to procure a van at dealer cost, which Navarra and Porter covered.
“Bill and I and several of our real estate agents attended the Conklin Center’s Shining the Light Gala in November and learned a great deal about the organization’s incredible work,” said Porter. “Clearly, the Conklin Center is changing lives. Bill and I were drawn to the organization and compelled to get involved.”
The Conklin Center uses three vehicles to shuttle students to medical appointments, Publix Supermarkets and more. The van donation came as the center had circulated a call for donations to replace its vehicles, so the other two aging vehicles need to be replaced, the release stated.
