Woman hit by car in downtown Ormond Beach on New Year's Eve

Carol Sanogueira was transported to the hospital in critical but stable condition, police report.

A 58-year-old woman was injured on New Year's Eve after a vehicle struck her while she was crossing West Granada Boulevard across from the Grind Gastropub, Ormond Beach police reported.

Carol Sanogueira, of Connecticut, was transported to the hospital in critical but stable condition after the 8:52 p.m. crash, a press release states. OBPD as well as the Ormond Beach Fire Department and Volusia County EMS responded to the scene.
