Flagler Schools graduation rate hits record high, up 11 points from five years ago

The county's graduation are was also several points higher than the state's this year.

The Florida Department of Education released the graduation rate for the 2018-2019 school year, showing the state rate increased to 86.9%. Flagler Schools also experienced a rise in the graduation rate among our students. Overall, the graduation rate for all Flagler Schools students last year was 89%, which is an all-time high.

This tops the 2017-2018 graduation rate of 88%, which was a record high for the district at the time. It’s also more than 11 points higher than the graduation rate from five years ago.

“It’s important to look at the trends,” said Flagler Schools Superintendent James Tager. “That five-year growth trend has us encouraged. Our entire team is doing the right things for all our students in preparing them academically for life after they leave our school campuses.”

Looking at the numbers “inside the number,” there is growth among the subsets, almost across the board:

As for the individual high schools, Matanzas High School’s graduation rate was 94%, two points higher than a year ago. Flagler Palm Coast High School’s was 86%, which matched last year’s mark.
