Those who enjoy car shows have a new opportunity the last Saturday of each month beginning Jan. 25. Daytona Cars and Coffee, presented by Bruce Rossmeyer’s Destination Daytona and powered by Destin 2 Shine, will include classics, imports, jeeps, modern muscle cars, trucks, show bikes and supercars.

The free show was started a year ago at the Streamline Hotel by Realtor Shawn Pruner, of Ormond Beach, and his son, Austin, and later expanded at Tanger Outlets. Pruner has now brought the show to Destination Daytona where it will run from 9 a.m. to noon.

“It’s a tremendous location with more flexible room and layout,” he said. “It’s a great place for functions.”

There’s a pavilion that will serve as the VIP section and a cover for attendees in the event of rain and several retail businesses. Attendees will be able to socialize over coffee, and it will be fun for the whole family, as there will be things for kids to do, Pruner said.

Because of the variety of cars and the social aspect, Pruner said the show is a unique experience. It started when he and his son, Austin, “had a blast” at an import car show. While Pruner likes older cars, his son likes imports, so they decided to bring old and new together.

Pruner also said hosting the event gives him a chance to spend time with his son.

He said the event has seen a large reach via social media, on average about 60,000 people a month.

Exhibiting cars at the show is free, except for 50 VIP spots under the pavilion. To register a car, visit www.eventbrite.com/manage/events/88581779487/tickets/154879543.

There will be a poker run, giveaways, 50/50, DJ, pool table inside of Destin 2 Shine, electric bikes, inflatable games and free coffee while it lasts.

The event will benefit charities, and this month it will be Boys and Girls Club of Volusia and Flagler Counties.
