Jeff Douglas, president of Douglas Property and Development, announced that development for 184 single-family homes in Town Center will begin in March, with 350 apartment condominiums to undergo development in the fourth quarter of 2020.

Douglas said these properties will contribute to his goal of Town Center encouraging the different generations present in Palm Coast to intermingle.

"We get a lot of seniors renting them, and a lot of single people," Douglas said of the coming apartments. "A lot of government workers, a lot of all kinds of working people."

He called the single-family homes "something tighter, smaller and more manageable for seniors. For the families, their family budgets will be better spent on food and other things than on maintaining an 85-foot massive lot."
