The Sensational 60’s

African American Cultural Society presents Lennox S. Hinds, Esq.

"We've Only Just Begun: Carpenters Remembered"

When: 7:30 p.m.
Where: Flagler Auditorium, 5500 E. Highway 100, Palm Coast
Cost: $29-39
Details: Accomplished vocalist Michelle Berting Brett takes center stage accompanied by her 7–piece band of Nashville musicians directed by Harry Sharpe to re–create the Carpenters’ arrangements and sound. Berting Brett shares stories culled from extensive research and interviews with those who knew Karen and Richard personally and professionally. Indian Trails II Neighborhood Watch Meeting

When: 5:45 p.m.
Where: Flagler County Public Library, 2500 Palm Coast Parkway Northwest
Cost: Free
Details: Mayor Milissa Holland will be the speaker for the meeting and Commander Michael Lutz of the Flagler County Sheriff's Office will also be in attendance to provide monthly statistical and safety information.

Elks Lodge rummage and bake sale

When: Jan. 29-30 8 a.m. to 4 p.m; Jan. 31 8 a.m. to noon
Where: Palm Coast Elks Lodge, 53 Old Kings Road
Cost: Free
Details: Clothing, toys, house wares, jewelry, books, specialty items, homemade baked goods and more. Donations will be accepted only on Tuesday, Jan. 28. No old TVs or printers will be accepted.

Sunday, Feb. 2

American Legion's Four Chaplains memorial service

When: 2:30 p.m.
Where: VFW Post 8696, 47 N. Old Kings Road, Palm Coast
Cost: Free
Details: A service dedicated to the heroic "Four Chaplains" who gave up their lifejackets after the USAT Dorchester was torpedoed off the coast of Greenland on Feb. 3, 1943. Each chaplain received the Purple Heart and the Distinguished Service Cross posthumously. Call (770) 510-3943 or email [email protected].
