2:20 a.m. — 800 block of North Halifax Drive
Disturbing the peace. Police arrested a 38-year-old Winter Spring man who arrived at an Ormond residence, began honking his car horn and screamed obscenities "at the top of his lungs," according to the police report.
The man told police that he was at the home because he had a GPSS tracking app on his girlfriend's phone and it showed she was at this location. The reporting officer noted the man appeared drunk and had several open beer cans in the center console of his car, in addition to a case that still had three unopened beers.
The resident told police that she was frightened when the man showed up and that it woke up everyone in the house. The man was taken to jail.
8:07 a.m. — 1900 block of West Granada Boulevard
Resisting an officer without violence. A 41-year-old Orlando woman who was hanging around a local convenience store was arrested after the store owner called police to let them know the woman was harassing employees.
When the reporting officer arrived at the scene, the woman got inside her car and started yelling at the officer, who then called for back-up. The store owner advised the officer he wanted the woman trespassed.
Police told the woman this, but she continued yelling "nonsensical statements." She refused to open her car window or door so they could speak, according to the police report. She ignored the officer's commands to vacate the property. After several failures to comply with police, officers punched out the front driver side window and unlocked the vehicle.
The woman was taken to jail.
8:55 a.m. — 1600 block of West Granada Boulevard
Grand theft. A 47-year-old Ormond Beach man told police he had stolen a car because he was "on a walk" at the time, according to his arrest report.
The vehicle had been stolen from a local gas station after the owner went inside the convenience store having left his vehicle unlocked with the keys inside. Police spotted the stolen car on I-95 and stopped the driver. Other than saying he had been on a walk, he refused to say more about the incident.
Nothing else was stolen from the car, which was returned to its owner. The man was taken to jail.
